Mrs. Ervin Eckert, nee Yvonne M. Harper, of Doss passed away on Sunday, November 22 ^nd at the age of 90.

She is survived by her children, Ernie Eckert of Doss, Larry Eckert and spouse Jana of Abilene, Jimmie Jill Pilcher of Doss and Ellen Eckert of Doss. Grandchildren Amber Adams and spouse Jack, Elise Studer and spouse Preston, Brandon Pilcher, Morgan Pilcher and fiancé Brandon Roberson, Evan Eckert and Nicholas Eckert. Great-grandchildren Ashtyn Eckert, Addison Adams, and Presley Studer. Brothers Dayton Harper and spouse Mitzi, Sam Harper Jr., and Brother-in-law Roy Itz, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins plus a multitude of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sammy and Marie Harper, sister Micky Harper Berry, Sister-in-Laws Gai Ann Harper, Rosemary Harper, Myrtle Geistweidt, and Violet Itz, Brother-in-Law Homer Geistweidt and Son-in-law Hal Pilcher.

Yvonne was the oldest child born to Samuel and Marie Moore Harper on September 14, 1930 in Mason County. She grew up in the Ranch Branch community and attended school there and in Mason. She went to work at the Mason Drug Company in Mason at the age of 18 where she eventually met the love of her life. On December 26, 1954, Yvonne married Ervin Eckert at First United Methodist Church in Mason, and began a life-long servant to the community of Doss.

Upon marriage, Yvonne became a member of Hilda United Methodist Church where she has been an active participant for more than 65 years. She was also employed by Doss CCSD for more than 50 years as a school bus driver and custodian.

Yvonne was the proud wife of a farmer and rancher and supported him and his endeavors as well as the many activities her children participated in including Boy Scouts, 4-H, FFA and School. She worked tirelessly for her family and friends in the Doss and Hilda Community where she was an inspiration, role model and icon.

Private grave side services will be conducted with a public memorial to follow in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her honor and to recognize her service to her employers which include Hilda United Methodist Church, Friends of Doss School, Doss Community Improvement Club, Doss Saint Peter Lutheran Church, and Doss Primitive Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
