Woodie Steve Ratliff left this world for his heavenly resting place, at the age of 74, on March 15, 2021.

Steve was born on August 18, 1946 to Woodrow and Gladys Ratliff in San Saba Texas.

Steve grew up in Goldthwaite Texas and graduated from Goldthwaite High School in 1965.  He attended Durham Business College.

Steve married the love of his life, Judy Polk, on October 30, 1965.  They have two children, Michelle Kilgo and her husband Todd and Scott Ratliff and his wife Vickie.  They have six grandchildren: Tyler Hammond and wife Lacee, Hunter Kilgo, Kyndi Kilgo, Courtney Moursund and husband Stephen, Rocky Gage and Kelsie Ratliff. They have 3 great grandchildren: Madison Moursund, Morgan Moursund and Trig Hammond.

Steve Managed lumber yards in Johnson City and Fort Stockton and ended his working career in Austin Tx as the Maintenance Supervisor at Westminster Manor.

Steve proudly served his country in the Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, MO from 1967 to 1973.

Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He was a good carpenter, building their own family homes in Mason, Johnson City and Brownwood.  He loved traveling with his late wife and enjoyed going and watching all his grandkids in all their sporting events.  Steve loved deer hunting on their ranch in Mason and always loved fishing with family and friends.  Steve was a Baptist and truly loved his Lord and Savior.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Gladys, and one brother, Randall Ratliff.  He is survived by his daughter, son, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren a niece, several nephews and a brother.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gooch Cemetery.
