Larry Wilson, of Harper, passed away on Thursday, June 25, at the age of 74. Mr. Wilson is survived by his children Lena Leahey of El Paso and "Josh" Wilson and wife Denise of El Paso. He is also survived by a sister Jackie Stephens and husband Joe "Steve" of Winfield, Tennessee, 7 grandchildren: Elizabeth, William, Katherine and Amile Leahey, Brenna Bandstra and husband Nick, Eirc Wilson and Kevin Wilson along with the mother of his children Nancy Wilson of El Paso. He was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Faye Brooker.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening, June 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mason Funeral Home chapel. interment will follow in the Grit Cemetery.
Larry was a 1959 graduate of Mason High school and a graduate of Texas Western (now U.T. El Paso). He retired from the Federal Reserve System after 20 years and then worked at banks in El Paso, Midland and Texas City before retiring. He moved to the Harper area about 3 years ago where he enjoyed raising his chickens and bee keeping.
