Obituary

William Willmann, of Mason, passed away on Saturday, November 23, at the age of 81. Mr. Willmann is survived by his daughter Sarah Stahl and husband Ken, of Mason, and two sisters Etta Marie Mutschink of Art and Mildred Todd of LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his wife Jo Ann in 2007. A memorial service in his honor will be held on Wednesday, November 27, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel.

William was born on December 14, 1931 in Art, to August Willmann and Clara Leifeste Willmann. He was a graduate of Mason High School, attended Tarleton State College and graduated from Southwest Texas State College (now Texas State University) with a degree in agriculture. Bill served his country in the United States Army. He farmed in Hutchinson County for many years before moving back to Mason in 2010. He loved to collect knives and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was well known in west Texas for his chuck wagon cooking. He entered many chuck wagon cooking competitions and catered many events throughout West Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to Patriot Warrior Hunt at the Commercial Bank in Mason.
