William Larry Black passed away November 10, 2023, at the age of 79.

Larry was born December 20, 1943, to Wade and Topsy Black in Mason, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son James McKay Black and brother-in-law Sam Hough.

Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years Brenda, granddaughter Mishay Anthony and husband Cody, McKay Reeve and husband Sheldon, great grandchildren Ryle and Reata Anthony, brothers Scott and wife Linda, Donald and wife Becky, brother-in-law Richard Hough Jr., sister-in-law Sharon Neumann and husband Herb, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry graduated from Mason High School, then obtained an associate degree from Brackenridge Hospital in X-Ray Technology. Following college, he enlisted in the Army and served at Sandia Base Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. during the Vietnam War. After three years in the Army, he was honorably discharged and joined the Border Patrol, serving in many locations in Texas, Albuquerque N.M. and Houlton, Maine. He retired in Alpine Texas and moved to Hext, Texas, where he fulfilled a dream of having land and cows.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
