William Vaughn Armes of Fredonia and Denton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Denton, Texas. William Vaughn was born September 24, 1944 to Roy Armes and Fannie Taylor Armes in Corpus Christi, Texas. He married Janie Thomas on October 16, 1999. He was raised in Fredonia and graduated from Mason High School in 1962. He enlisted in the Army and was a paratrooper during his enlistment. He worked for Buttery's Hardware in Llano, Texas for several years and afterwards he drove a truck over the US for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Armes and his brother, Billy Armes. Survivors include his wife, Janie Armes of Denton; his mother, Fannie P. Armes of Fredonia; step-daughters Janice Krause of Sioux Falls, SD and Billie Jo and Dale Gilliland of Tyler; step-sons Duane and Terri Rutledge of NOrth Richland HIlls and Eddie Renegar of Lawton, OK. He is also survived by sister-in-law Edith Armes, nephew Jim Bob and Jenney Armes, all of Fredonia; nephew Clay and Marie Armes of Junction; niece Allison and Steve Hicks of Thackerville, OK; as well as by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a great-niece and a great-nephew.
