Welda Armour, age 91, went to be with our Lord on January 11, 2021. She was born in Groveton, Texas to Weldon and Thelma Lee Howard on May 27, 1929. She is survived by husband, John Armour, to whom she was married for 35 years.  She will be missed by surviving children Mark Lowry and his wife Barb, of Texas, Bruce Lowry and his wife Lane, of New Mexico, John Armour and his wife Robin, of Texas, and Jill Armour, of Arizona. Welda, together with her husband John, have six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Welda was preceded in death by her brother, James Allen Howard and sister, Amy Elizabeth Lundsted. Gene R. Howard, Welda's surviving brother, lives in Mason, Texas.

Welda and John called Mason their home for sixteen years. She had many wonderful memories and leaves behind many dear friends. Although before moving to Mason she was a successful shop owner and teacher, she will always be remembered as a talented local artisan. She had an amazing gift for creating outstanding paintings of our hill country, its hills, trees, eye-catching bluebonnets, and wildlife. Many of those paintings sold and are proudly displayed in homes and offices all over this state. She left beauty, family, and friends to honor her memory.

Per her request, there will be no services or memorials. She wished to be remembered as she was walking this earth among you. In lieu of flowers, please honor her memory with a donation to your favorite charity. This gentle woman will continue to live on in our hearts.
