Wanda Hurley Jacques of Camp Air passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the age of
80.

Wanda was born in Katemcy on May 8, 1930 to Arthur and Myrtle Hurley. She graduated
from Mason High School in 1947 and San Marcos University in 1951 with a degree in music.

She is survived by her husband Don Jacques, her three sons - Wayne Jacques of Dripping Springs, Kenneth Jacques, and his wife Terri of San Luis Obispo CA, and John Jacques of Camp Air, four grand children - Jessica Jacques, Rachel Jacques, Brian
Jacques, and Stuart Jacques, and one great grandchild - Sophie Jacques, one sister-
Dortha White of San Angelo, four nieces - Helen Thorpe, Marsha Finlay, Pat Saunders,
Mary Lee Calhoun and three nephews - Mike Hurley, Phillip White, and James Bode.

Preceding her in death were her first husband Gordon C. Chock, her parents Arthur and
Myrtle Hurley of Katemcy, her brother Gordon Hurley of Brighton CO, and her sister
Polly Bode of San Angelo.

Wanda wanted to see and do things .After her first husband's death, she married a
"Yankee" from Massachusetts, and left her beloved Texas for 33 years. She moved 11
times across the States, and traveled to different parts of the world as she raised three fine
sons and supported her husband in his business career, She was active in the music
programs of the many churches she attended, and loved the fine arts programs of New
York and other great cities ..
She and Don retired in 1991 from the business world and her Legal Secretary career.
moved to San Antonio, then started the restoration of the "Sorrell's" house and moved to
Camp Air in 1998.
Wanda was active in Mason, as a library supporter for many years, she managed the initial "brick" program and worked on the unveiling ceremony of the "Old Yeller" statue. She belonged to the Women's Golf Assoc., and the City Tax Assessors Board. She
was actively involved in the development of the music program in the Methodist Church
playing the Baby Grand piano that she dearly loved.
One of Wanda's dreams was to see an active youth choir program in the Methodist Church. The Jacques family is going to establish initial funding for this program. If you would like to participate in lieu of flowers and other Memorial Donations, please make a
donation to the Methodist Church Foundation, Youth Choir program.

Family visitation will be held on Friday, July 2 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Mason Funeral Home.
Memorial Services will be held at the Methodist Church on Saturday, July 3 at 10:00am, followed by a grave side service at Bethel Cemetery in Camp Air and a reception at the Peters Prairie School House.
