From working in the cotton fields of Mason County to owning his own business, Victor's first employment was in 1956 doing road construction for J.R. Cannon and Co. He started out picking up rocks and grubbing tree roots in the right of way. Within two weeks he worked his way up to maintenance. From there he went to work as a mechanic for Bud Baxter, Baxter Equipment and Co from about 1958-1964. In that time frame, Victor enlisted on the Texas National Guard and saw six months active duty for training. He completed his six year stint on 30 March 1964 and was honorably discharged. From 1964 to 1970, Victor worked for Rueben Loeffler Ford Motor Co. From 1970 to 1979 Victor went to work for Eckert Equipment Co. In 1979, Victor decided to venture out on his own and started his own business, Vic's Garage, until 1999. In 1993, Vic's Garage received two awards and plaques by the Mason Chamber of Commerce as "Businessman of the Year" and "Business of the Year, 10 Years and Over". Vic sold his shop because of unfortunate medical reasons. He then worked part time from his home doing small auto mechanic repairs and service calls.

Victor wants to send a huge THANK YOU to Mason County, friends and customers for believing in him.

Love you Mason, Texas-Vic
