Valentina C. Dominguez, of Mason, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, at the age of 69. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mason Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. A prayer service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.

Valentina was born on November 23, 1943 in Fredonia, Texas to Eleno Sandoval Castillo and Rita Rubio Magallanes Castillo. She lived in Mason county most of her life. Valentina worked as an LVN for over 40 years at various places around the state. In her spare time she loved to read and enjoyed going to Las Vegas and playing the lottery. Her family was very special to her and each day she looked forward to visiting with her sisters and brother. She loved being around her children and her grandchildren.

Survivors include 5 children: Henry Dominguez Jr. and wife Elva of Mason, Danny Dominguez and wife Ida of Marfa, Joe Chris Dominguez and wife Sonja of San Saba, Lisa D. Ramirez and husband Ignacio of Mason, Rita Mae Orta and husband Rick of Brady, a brother Victor Castillo and wife Frances of Mason and 4 sisters Mary Velez of Mason, Olga Mesa of Mason, Jane Zavala and husband Fred of Fredericksburg, Vickie Nelms and husband Art of Mason, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Valentina was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her childen Enrique Dominguez Sr., and infant daughter Amy Consuelo Dominguez and a grandson Conrad Dominguez.

Memorials in her honor may be made to Mason County Cancer Benefit or to the charity of one's choice.
