Obituary

Tommy Chew, of Mason, passed away on Saturday, November 7, at the age of 72. Tommy is survived by his children Tim Chew and wife Darinda of Mason and Tracy Montoya of Mason. He is also survived by five grandchildren Ryan Mehal of San Antonio, Tyler Chew of Brady, Carley Chew of Mason, Brooke Falgout of Mason, Kyle Montoya of Mason, a step-grandson T.J. Turnell of Houston, a cousin Elaine O'Neal of Mason and the mother of his children Darlene Brandenberger. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Linda Chew.

Tommy was born on March 6, 1943 in Mason to Hilman Chew and Faye Bolt Chew. He graduated from Mason High School in 1961 and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years as a special agent. During his time with the railroad he lived in Houston, Waco and Dallas. After the death of his wife Linda in 2007, he moved back to Mason in order to be closer to his children.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Mason Funeral Home with Mark Kirby leading the service. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Ryan Mehal, Tyler Chew, Justin Yonker, Kolby Yonker, Brad Holt, James Perlichek, Kyle Montoya and Greg Gardner. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Zesch, Stanley Watson, Teddy Ray Doyal and C.C. Sherwood.
