Tommie was born at the exact geographical location (Fredonia, Tx) where she lived her retired life. Her parents were Herman Gustav and Alta Mae Miller Ellebracht.  She grew up on a sheep ranch outside of London, Texas.  She attended London elementary schools.  She boarded in town with a lady and walked to school daily.  She'd stop at the café and get her sack lunch daily before finishing her trek to school.

She got a hardship driver's license when she was in junior high school so she could drive to Junction to school.  She played clarinet in the band and was a Flag Bearer.   She met Roger Luckenbach while a senior in High School. She graduated high school and Durham Business College in San Antonio.  Then she and Roger got married and shared a long life together until Roger passed away in 2013.

Tommie was an expert seamstress.  She sewed all her 3 daughters' clothes until they could sew them for themselves.  When the girls got old enough to go to formal events they would all pile in the car and drive to Odessa,Tx where they would go to all the fanciest places in town and try on dresses.  Each girl would remember what she liked and wanted in her dress.  When they got home with fabric Tommie would make a dress with the favorite feature of each girl.

While in McCamey she was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi, WSCS (Women's Society of Christian Service), and Methodist Church.  She was a big part of the Lay Witness Mission project and traveled with Christian friends to teach people about the power of Jesus.  She later would go on a Walk to Emmaus and became involved with that ministry as well.

She worked for WTU for 15 years as the front cashier.  She enjoyed her work and formed a lifelong habit of having a Coke at coffee break every afternoon.  She worked for Amana teaching women how to prepare food in the Radar Range.

When Roger and Tommie moved back to Mason Tommie kept herself entertained with, Mason Study Club, Texas Federated Women's Club. While she served as the president she put together "A Wedding Affair" for Mason's Sesquicentennial. The scrapbook from this event won first place honors on the state level.

Her motto was: take care of the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves.

Tommie Lou Luckenbach is survived by three daughters: Kathryn Burch of Stanton, Tx, Gene and Carolyn Thomas of Fredonia, Tx., and David and Karla Campbell of McCamey, Tx.  Grand Children include: Justin and Shawna Burch of Stanton, Jeffrey and Chelsea Burch of Midland, Jason and Sommer Thomas of Magnolia, Tx, Jacob and Geneva Thomas of Clyde,Tx, Jeff and Jenifer Moersch of Odessa, Tx, Larry and Jessica Bradley of McCamey, Tx, Philip (PJ) Traylor and Jana of McCamey,Tx , Danny and Jimmie Lynn Garcia of San Antonio, Tx. Great Grandchildren include:

Laine and Brynn Burch, Emmett and Evelyn Burch, Layne and Luke Thomas, Kaden, Hagan, Sidonie, and Callen Thomas, Jared and Jacie Moersch, Bobby Alan and Landree Bradley, Paxton and Prescott Traylor.

And one Brother-in-law:  Nolan Donop formerly of Mason, Tx. And a plethora of nieces and nephews.

Preceeded in death by Husband: Roger Luckenbach, Herman Gustov Ellebracht and Alta Mae Miller Ellebracht, Rodger G Burch and various as sundry different ancient relatives.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 01 at 10:00 a.m. at the Art United Methodist Church. Following the service, burial will be held at the Wagram Cemetery.
