Stephen Louis Jordan, 64,of Mason, Texas entered into eternal peace on July 10, 2014.
Steve was born on August 2, 1949 to Charles W. and Allyne Jordan in Ottawa, Kansas.
He graduated from Spearman High School in Spearman, Texas in 1967. He attended Texas Tech University until 1970 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with Company 0, Third Battalion, 21st Infantry. He is a veteran of the Viet Nam War where he earned numerous commendations including the Bronze Star. He continued to live his life as a very proud, patriotic American.
In 1986, Steve married Sheri in Harlingen, Texas, and immediately became a dad to her two boys, Michael and Matthew. There he was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and School until they moved to Mason, Texas where they joined St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason. While living there, he enjoyed playing golf, officiating football games, and spending time with his boys. He was an active participant in all of his sons' activities, including Wade and wife Sheri's Boy Scouts activities. Steve's family was of the utmost importance to him. He enjoyed every aspect of being a wonderful husband, dedicated father, and, as his family grew, an amazing grandfather.
Memories of Steve will be cherished by his wife, Sheri, his sons Michael and wife Traci Seely of Katy, Matthew Seely and Ginger Havel of College Station, and Wade and wife Melissa Jordan of Conroe. He was 'Grandpa' to four admiring grandchildren, Jessica and Thomas of Katy, and Rylee and Aaron of Conroe. He also leaves behind his mother Allyne Jordan of Amarillo, brother Don and wife Donna Jordan of Alva, Oklahoma, and sister Linda Nichols of Canyon, Texas, several nieces and nephews, and numerous dear family friends. He is reuniting with his daughter Jessica Jordan and his father Charles W. Jordan in Heaven.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 13 at Mason Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason.interment will follow at Gooch Cemetery in Mason
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the children and youth ministry at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Mason.
