Shirley Wilkins passed away on Tuesday, December 11, at the age of 68. She was born in Mason on January 9, 1950 to Leonard Sturdivant and Iva Mae (Keith) Swinford.

She is survived by her sons John Steven Wilkins II, Daniel M. Wilkins and wife Susan all of New Braunfels and three grandchildren: Brady A. Wilkins, Brittany M. Wilkins and Bowen Thor Wilkins all of New Braunfels. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lonnie Sturdivant, a nephew Johny Sturdivant, her step-father Joseph Swinford and her grandparents.

Shirley had several occupations with the main ones being, home bound mother and volunteer worker. She did volunteer work for several heritage organizations and museums including the Western Heritage Center and Cowboy Hall of Fame in Lea County, New Mexico and many years with the National Ranchi ng Heritage Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Her hobbies included worship services, playing games and doing crafts with her grandchildren and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 15, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cavness Cemetery in Mason County.
