It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shayleigh Brooke Persall-Everett, age 19, of Sanderson, Texas, on June 13, 2026.

Shayleigh was born on August 31, 2006, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Stephanie Everett and Rodney Persall and was baptized on May 1, 2016. She brought joy, laughter, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though her time with us was far too short, her impact on the lives of family and friends will never be forgotten.

Shayleigh was known for her big heart, beautiful smile, and tenacious spirit. She was passionate about music and found joy in the simple beauty of the world around her. She had a gift for noticing beauty in unexpected places and a curious spirit that made ordinary moments feel special. She approached life with wonder, adventure, and a deep appreciation for nature's hidden treasures.

Strong-willed and fiercely independent, Shayleigh was never afraid to speak her mind and always stood her ground, especially when she knew she was right. She was full of opinions and loved a good argument. Her confidence, humor, and spark brought energy and laughter to those around her. She was spontaneous, adventurous, and always ready for whatever came next. Whether it was a last-minute road trip, trying something new, or simply finding an excuse to spend time with the people she loved, Shayleigh was often the first to say yes. Her adventurous spirit and fearless approach to life made every moment with her unforgettable.

Shayleigh also possessed a deep sense of determination and service. She proudly pursued her dream of serving in the military and attended boot camp, where an unexpected knee injury temporarily ended her training. Though deeply disappointed by the setback, she never gave up on her goal and remained determined to return. Her resilience, dedication, and strength reflected the character that defined her life.

Above all else, Shayleigh loved her family and friends wholeheartedly. Shayleigh grew up very close with her cousins, and they were much more than family to her—they were lifelong friends. From childhood memories to countless laughs, adventures, and late-night conversations, they shared a bond that was truly special. The love they shared and the memories they made will always stay close to their hearts.

Shayleigh had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. She was known for being opinionated and argumentative, and she never hesitated to tell you exactly how she felt. But that was part of what made her so special—and so loved. She was funny, real, and unapologetically herself. Her humor, honesty, and bold personality brought life to every room she walked into. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew her forever.

She is survived by her parents, Stephanie Everett and Rodney Persall; siblings, Ryann Farris-Mirales and husband Michael, Nathaniel Everett, Bailee Everett and husband Michael Vargas, and Kinley Everett; grandparents, Dean Everett, Rosene and Mathel Green, and Gary Persall; nephews, Ari Wallace, Marik Vargas, and Silas Vargas; nieces, Adalee Martinez, Ryan Wallace, and Remi Vargas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones who will cherish her memory forever.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Raymond Everett; her aunt, Mitzi Persall; and her uncles, Faren Persall and Bobby Dee Stockinger.

A Memorial service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mason Funeral Home.

Though we grieve her loss deeply, we find comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the love she shared with so many. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
