Ruth Dannheim, of Mason, passed away on Thursday, October 10, at the age of 92. Mrs. Dannheim is survived by her daughters Jennifer Brinlee and husband Dan of Mason and Deanna Handlin and husband Don Mason, 4 grandchildren Rebecca Brinlee, Michael Brinlee and wife Emilee, Coby Owen and Cheryl Bahm and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Dannheim and her brother Thomas Edison Murray.

Ruth was born at home in Mason County on September 1, 1921 to Allen Murray and Alma Louise Schmidt Murray. She was a graduate of Mason High School and attended Tarleton State College. She has been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mason since 1936. In October of 1940 Ruth married the love of her life, Walter Dannheim, and their marriage was blessed with two children, Jennifer and Deanna.

Family, church and helping others would be the focus of her life. She had a kind and loving soul and would never speak ill of others and never, ever repeat gossip. Ruth had a gentle spirit and she gave generously of her time. She was very involved in her church and served on many committees, was Chairman of the Hope Circle and United Methodist Women, served as Sunday School Superintendent and was involved with "Walk to Emmaus". Ruth served her community by being on the original Library Committee, helping at the thrift shop and with 'Meals On Wheels". She also helped with the Literary Graduate program, helping other to learn to speak and read English. She loved sharing her faith through helping others at home, at church and in the community.

Ruth worked as a school librarian for several years. She loved being around children and sharing the joy of reading with them. As a member of the Mason Study Club she was also able to share her joy of reading. Ruth also enjoyed being a member of the Grit Community Club and quilting on Tuesday at Grit.

Funeral services for Ruth Dannheim will be held on Monday, October 14, at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Mason. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.
