Roscoe Behrens

MASON – Roscoe Behrens, of Mason, passed away on Saturday, September 19, at the age of 87. Mr. Behrens is survived by his children Frankie Behrens of Kerrville, David Behrens and wife Barbara of El Dorado, Raymond Behrens and Sharyn Esquell of Kerrville and Barbara Oakes and husband Frank of Kerrville. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and 3 great-grandchildren.

Roscoe was born on January 30, 1922 in Mason County to James Lewis Behrens and Martha Leifeste Behrens. On May 20, 1944 he married Emma Skurlock. Their marriage was blessed with four children and they were together for almost 60 years. Roscoe was owner of a filling station in Mason for many years. In the mid-60's he moved to Kerrville where he worked as a warehouseman at the State Hospital.

Funeral services will be held graveside at the Gooch Cemetery in Mason on Thursday, September 24, at 2:30. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.

Memorials in his honor may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to Sid Peterson Memorial Hospice in Kerrville.
