God called Ronald Roy Binion home on August 10, 2021, at the age of 88.  Ron was born June 5, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Murry Binion and Jessie Ivison.  The family moved to Sayre, Oklahoma a few years later.  He attended the Sayre schools and graduated in May 1952.  Ron developed a love of music and football during his high school years.  He was quarterback on for the Sayer Eagles his junior and senior year.  He was also played trombone in the high school band.  Upon completion of his education, Ron enlisted in the United States Air Force in July of 1952 to serve during the Korean War.  During his military service he received the Korean Service Medal, United States Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.  He was honorably discharged earning the rank of Sargent in July 1956.  Ron returned to Sayre and soon met the love of his life, Bee Ann Brewster, in the neighboring town of Elk City, Oklahoma. Six weeks later they wed and shortly thereafter moved to Yukon, Oklahoma to start their family.

Ron began his career with Western Electric, a division of Southwestern Bell as a production supervisor.  The company relocated the family to Garland, Texas in July 1973.  He took early retirement from Western Electric in 1984.  Ron started his second career as a teacher and coach.  Ron soon became known to many young men as Coach B.  He taught math and was Head Football Coach/Athletic Director for Canyon Christian Academy (1983-1988 & 1991-1999), First Baptist Academy (1988-1994), and Fort Worth Temple Christian (1994-1996 & 1999-2002). During his coaching career Ron was selected as "Coach of the Year 1990" by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.

Coach B taught his players to keep Christ first in their life and how a person's character was so important, as this is how he lived his life.  Coach B's influence was evident as many of his former players kept in touch with him, even up to his death. His teaching and coaching career end after 19 years in the field at the age of 70.  He and Bee Ann made Mason their retirement home, moving from Garland in 2003.  During his retirement years Ron enjoyed tennis and running.  He also loved watching his grandchildren excel in school and sporting events.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bee Ann, his parents Murry Binion and Jessie Ivison, brother Kenneth Binion, Sister-In Law Beth Warren, son Geron Binion, great granddaughter Isobel Grace Hanna and nephew Phillip Warren.

He is survived by his children Ronda Reichle of Burnet, Kim Jackson and husband Rodney of Mason, Daughter-in- Law Cindy Binion of Garland and son Kevin Binion of Sachse. Grandchildren Jessica Reichel (Jesse Gaston) of Marble Falls, Justin Binion (Chris Hanna) of Whiteright, Clay Binion (Shannon Simms) of Garland, Samantha Jordan of San Angelo, Traci Chote (Dylan) of Allen, Bo Binion and Jake Binion of Garland and Granddaughter Bonnie Bee Hanna.

Visitation with the family will be at 2:00 pm Friday, August 13, 2021 First Baptist Church followed by services at 3:00. Interment to follow at Gooch Cemetery.
