Obituary

Rocky was born June 29, 1938, to Clarence Ernest Nicholson and Maude Annell Spence Nicholson, in Mason, Texas. Rocky went to school in Mason, Texas where he played baseball, was in the FFA and worked at Behren's Grocery. He saved his money to buy his first paint horse and saddle with the money he earned delivering groceries. Rocky graduated from Mason High School in 1957 and went on to study accounting at Nixon Clay in Austin.

Rocky met the love of his life, Ramona Gibbs Nicholson at a young age, in Mason, Tx. Their first date was at the Brady Jubilee and also where Rocky proposed to Mona several years later. Rocky and Mona had two children, Brenda Ann Nicholson Brown and Bradley Free Nicholson and raised their family in Austin

Rocky worked for 42 years at the Austin Coca Cola Bottling company where he worked his way up the ladder from being a billboard sign painter to Warehouse Manager, when he retired. He was a very well-respected employee and was known as a fair and compassionate leader.

You could often find Rocky tending his cows, hunting and spending precious time with his family. Rocky was an avid hunter and had many stories to tell about his adventures of hunting in the hill country. Some of his favorite times were in the deer stand with his wife or grandchildren. Lots of life's decisions and cherished moments were contemplated and made during those times. Family was the most important thing to Rocky and he will be missed!

Rocky is preceded in death by his father, mother, wife and grandson, Riley Free Jackson Brown.

Rocky is survived by his sister Tommie Lou Aubrey of Round Rock, Tx, his daughter, Brenda and husband Terry Brown of Austin, Tx. His son Brad and wife Dawn of Liberty Hill, Tx. Grandchildren Brandy Brown of Bridgeport, TX, Trevor Brown and wife Summer of San Antonio, Tx and Destrey Nicholson and wife Lynn, of Mason, Tx. He is also survived by great grandchildren, Rusty Nicholson, Rowen Brown, Taylor Brown and Jackson Brown.
