Roberta McMillan, of Mason, passed away peacefully at her home in Mason on Sunday, April 6. She was 91. Roberta was born on March 22, 1923 in Childress, Texas to John Simpson Owen and Marie Feige Owen. She was a 1940 graduate of Mason High School and attended Texas Tech for two years.

In 1934 Roberta joined the Methodist Church in Turkey, Texas. Through the years she was an active member of the Methodist Church serving on many committees and teaching Sunday School.

Roberta married Leo Hofmann "Hoppy" McMillan in Winters, Texas. They made their home on the family ranch in Mason County. She loved the beautiful, peaceful simple life in the country.

Roberta is survived by her children Terry McMillan and wife Janice of Rock Springs; Gay McMillan Donaldson of Mason and Sonora and Scott McMillan and wife Amanda of Mason. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Reid Donaldson, Colby Donaldson, Ty McMillan, Zeno McMillan and wife Becca, Morgan McMillan Willis and husband Brandon and three great-grandchildren; Bode McMillan, Anna McMillan and Rory Lynn McMillan.

She loved her family and friends, her church and community, a glass of wine and a card game. Most of all she loved her husband "Hop".

"Just be happy for me in my new life".

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mason.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mason County EMS.
