Robert Larry
Trip
Jul 7, 1940 — Jul 1, 2022
Robert Larry Trip went to be with the Lord Friday July 1, 2022. He was born July 7, 1940 in Dallas Texas to Robert and Wynon Jernigan. At a young age his father was killed in an accident. Winnie went on to marry Alfred "Shorty" Trip. Robert Larry Trip was known by many different names. Family and friends called him Larry while his co-workers called him Bob. Someone who called him Robert apparently didn't know him well! Most of all he was happiest when being called "Wouldya" or Papa!
As a young man Larry joined the Army and was very proud to be one of the men manning the Howitzer in the Korean Conflict. Upon returning from his service, he married Carolyn Swofford. They had 3 children, Carol Renee, Robert Scott, and William Alfred. When his marriage to Carolyn ended, his career driving a bus for Trailways took him to Houston where he met his soulmate Nancy Jane. During their 43 years together they enjoyed many great trips across the United States. Together their blended family had 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
We want to thank Hill Country Senior Care and High Plains Hospice. Nikki, Sondra, Moriah, and Ubaldo were the best caring for him with such kindness and respect.
Robert Larry Trip was preceded in death by his father Robert Jernigan, parents Wynon and Alfred Trip. Also the love of his life Nancy went before him and was there to welcome him with open arms.
He is survived by daughter Renee Trip of Coleman Texas, son Scott Trip and wife Melody of Llano Texas and son William Trip and wife Diane of Boerne Texas. Eight grandchildren Dalenne Garcia and husband Mike, Lorren Carrasco and husband Brandon , Travis Vickers, Olivia Vickers, Winston Trip and fiancé Maci, Austin Trip and wife Brittany, Bailey Trip and fiancé Tyler, and Andrew Trip. Great grandchildren Jordan Amendt, Gavin Garcia, Christian Amendt, Gracelyn Garcia, Malorie Carrasco and Slayton Trip. Also his aunt Dean Jernigan Deerfield, uncle Jerry Smith and neice Elizabeth Busten as well as many loved cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Gooch Cemetery under the direction of Mason Funeral Home on July 5 at 10:00 . Honorary Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
