Raymond (Ray)
Don Everett
Feb 27, 1950 — Aug 13, 2020
Raymond (Ray) Don Everett rode off on his last adventure August 13, 2020; surrounded by his wife, daughters, and grandchildren who were the loves of his life.
He was born at home, delivered by his grandma, Susie Morris, on February 27, 1950 in Fort Davis, Texas. The third of seven children belonging to Otto (Bud) Everett and Pauline Morris Everett. Raised on ranches in West Texas and New Mexico he left school with a GED at 16 and went to work. On June 14, 1969, he married the love of his life, Dean, and started his family. He dedicated himself to his four daughters and his family. He had a cowboy's heart and enjoyed nothing more than being on the back of a horse chasing cattle. To his grandchildren, Ray was the quintessential Papa. He taught them about hunting, trapping, how to drive, spit, and whistle and of course how to ride. He was a wealth of knowledge to all that knew him. A dreamer at heart, he was always looking forward to the next big adventure. From the oil field to the pasture and everything in between it seems he did it all. The handiest person you've ever met, he could fix anything with baling wire and black tape.
Ray is proceeded in death by his parents, Bud and Pauline. He is survived by his loving wife Dean and his daughters; Samantha Burton and husband Ken, Synthia Grigry and husband Ben, Stephanie Everett and Susie Everett. He was Papa to 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers; Dub and Bill Everett of Fort Stockton, TX and his sisters; Cathy Collins, Lacy Everett, and Janie Everett of Fort Stockton and Pat Kring of Corsicana, Tx. He loved his siblings greatly.
A Memorial service honoring Ray will be planned for a later date.
