Raymond Lee Brandenberger, 79, of Mason, TX died on November 9, 2021. Raymond was born on March 19, 1942 in Brady, TX to Howard and Dessie Brandenberger. Upon graduation from Mason High School in 1960, he joined the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Raymond married Patsy Mahan on January 21, 1984, and together they shared a blended family of 3 daughters, Dee Ann Brandenberger, Sammie Veit, & Jodie Mahan.

Raymond was an active member of the community and served on numerous committees including being a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Mason Jaycees, served as a Mason School Board member, supported the Mason County Livestock Show, member of the Mason Golf Association, and was a strong supporter of the Mason Volunteer Fire Department. He also served on the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo Volunteer Committee.

Raymond was a lifelong resident and rancher in Mason. He, along with his dad and twin brother, were featured in Life Magazine in 1970 rounding up and roping calves on their Honda motorcycles. He liked quiet evenings on the patio enjoying the hill country scenery and its wildlife, feeding & hunting deer, and playing poker with the Monday Night Group. He often could be found sharing a cup of coffee and solving the world's problems with his many friends at the Mason Feed Store and Underwood's and sipping on cold beer at the Castell General Store. And those afternoon drives, he and Patsy spent many afternoons traveling the dirt roads all throughout Mason County enjoying their time together.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jeanie, previous wives Jan and Darlene, daughter Dee Ann, and his twin brother Daymond. He is survived by his wife Patsy, her daughters Sammie Veit and husband Mark, and Jodie Mahan, his beloved grandchildren, sisters-in-law Betty Brandenberger, Mary Schmidt, and Debbie Kothmann, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

In lieu of flowers, memorials or contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Mason, Mason Volunteer Fire Department, or any charity of your choice.

Visitation is Friday, November 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mason.  The Mason County Volunteer Fire Department provided the escort in honor of his lifelong support. Interment followed in the Gooch Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mark Veit, Garrett Veit, Tim Underwood, Hal McMillan, Randy Stockbridge, Willie Carter, Donald Durst and George Brannies. Honorary pallbearers were the Mason Feed Store Coffee group.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Saturday, November 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mason.  Interment will follow in the Gooch cemetery.
