Paulino Palacio, of Mason, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, at the age of 72. Mr. Palacio is survived by his children Paulino Palcio III of San Angelo, Brenda Palacio Forsyth and husband Sean of San Antonio, Juanita Palacio and husband Adam Baldiviez of San Antonio, Teo Palacio of Mason and Matthew Palacio of San Antonio along with 6 brothers: Daniel Palacio of San Angelo, Enrique Palacio and wife Mary of Mason, David Palacio of Mason, Louis Palacio of Mason, Moses Palacio of San Angelo, Pete Palacio and wife Diane of San Angelo, 3 sisters Rosalinda Martinez of Mason, Louisa Palacio of Mason, Irene Gloria and husband Andrew of Coleman and 6 grandchildren: Marcus Palacio, Teo Palacio Jr., Hanna Albiter, Yuvia Palacio, Anthony Albiter and Amelia Palacio. He was preceded in death by his wife Amelia Palacio in 2003, two sisters Frances Soto and Mary Trevino and a brother Alfred Palacio.
Paulino was born July 26, 1943 in Port Lavaca, Texas to Paulino Palacio Sr. and Anastacia Aguirre Palacio. He lived most of his life in Mason where he farmed and ranched and sheared sheep and goats. On December 28, 1968 Paulino married Amelia Soto. He was a simple man with a good, kind heart. He liked to laugh and make others laugh. Paulino loved his family and his best times were always with family. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. . Paulino was creative and a bit of an artist. He also was musically talented as he taught himself to play the guitar by ear.
Mr. Palacio will lie in state staring at noon Friday. The public is welcome to come by the funeral home starting at noon on Friday. Visitation with the family of Paulino Placio will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 4, at Mason Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Crosby Cemetery.
Memorials in his honor may be made to Gentiva Hospice in San Antonio or to the Alzheimer Association.
