Obituary

Patrick Nelson Eppler passed away on January 4, 2022 at the age of 90 years. Born on a ranch in Mason County on October 14, 1931 to Walter Tipton and Mollie Kinsey Eppler. Pat had three children and is survived by son Kurt and wife Camilla Eppler; and daughter Karla Eppler, from his first wife Earlene Moore, of Mason, and was preceded in death by daughter Rebecca Lynn Eppler. Pat had two grandchildren Kurran and wife Santana Eppler of Mason, and Kyle and wife Kari Eppler of Iola; and one very special great-granddaughter Finley Eppler of Mason. Pat is also survived by his stepchildren Bobby and wife Amy Feaster, Amanda and husband Scott McMillan, and Vanya and husband Brent Keyser. Pat is also survived by his longtime companion Donna Nelson. He was also preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mollie Eppler, his wife Yvette (Tichon) Eppler, sister Mary Beth (Eppler) Ince and husband Edwin Ince. He graduated from Mason High School in 1948 and then attended the University of Texas in Austin until he volunteered for the Korean War. After the war he moved to Austin where he worked as an accountant for the Texas Parks and Wildlife. In 1961 Pat returned to his roots in Mason County where he farmed irrigated peanuts, several other crops, and raised feeder pigs for many decades. He was known as an excellent farmer. In his later years he was a regular customer at the local restaurants where he made his rounds every day where he enjoyed meeting and talking with his coffee buddies. He never met a stranger and enjoyed keeping up with current events. Pat was a Christian man and was a member of the Baptist Church for many years.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday January 8th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home, with graveside services to follow at Coffey Cemetery at 3:30, and afterwards a reception at the family ranch in Streeter. Reverend Ray Ash will officiate. Serving as pallbearers are: Kurran Eppler, Kyle Eppler, Dave Ince, Will Ince, Walker Ince and Jared Whitworth.  All are welcome to attend and remember Pat. The family requests that in leu of flowers a donation be made to the Coffey Cemetery fund
