Pat Avalos, of Mason, passed away on Sunday, September 7, at the age of 69.  Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 11, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the Crosby Cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter Tonya Avalos of Mason, brothers and sisters: Antonio Avalos of Mason, Joe Avalos and wife Linda of Brady, Irene Menchaca of Mason and Josie Hernandez and husband Bobby of Brady, his dear friend Adelita Cantu, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  Pat was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ruben and Edward Avalos.

Patricio "Pat" Castillo Avalos was born in Mason on March 17, 1956, to Jesus Avalos and Guadalupe Castillo Avalos.  He was raised in Mason and attended school in Mason.  Pat worked with the Mason Housing Authority for many years.  He also worked part-time with Mason Funeral Home.  Pat enjoyed spending time with family, especially his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  He also loved to fish, play bingo and play the lottery.
