Obituary

Opal Jean Norton, 85, of Austin and formerly of Mason, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018. She was born on November 19, 1932 in Love County, Oklahoma to Thomas Roy and Lillie Grace Brawley Estes. She grew up in Mason but lived in San Martin, California and Brady as well.

Her accolades could not be framed and hung on the wall or put on a shelf for display. Instead, her tributes are far greater than these because of her beauty, inside and out. She had a servant's heart and lived her life by displaying the fruits of the spirit: with love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, faithfulness, and gentleness. To know her was to love her.Opal had a servant's heart and this was apparent by how she lived her life.

Her accolades could not be framed and hung on the wall or put on a shelf for display. Her tributes are simple but profound because she displayed the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, faithfulness, and gentleness. To know her was to love her.

Opal is survived by five children: Debbie Gardner of Austin, David Gardner of Brady, Michael Norton and wife Myrna of Cisco, David Norton and wife Patricia of Temple, Pam Hernandez and husband Mike of Colorado. Two brothers: Lindell G. Estes and wife Betty of Mason and Wilmer Estes of San Jose, California along with two grandsons and three granddaughters.
