Nathaniel Harold Jordan entered his heavenly home and reunited with his loved ones on July 31, 2021 at the age of 90.

Nathaniel was born on October 16, 1930, to Marvin and Hattie Jordan.  He was born in Hilda Tx then later moved to Art; he He was raised on the family ranch that borders Willow Creek just south of Art in Mason County. He attended the one room schoolhouse in Art and then graduated in 1949 from Mason High School and attended Tarleton State University.  He was called to serve in the Army during the Korean War. He served his country from 1952 to 1955. During his service in the Army, he was Sergeant 1 ^st class, assistant platoon sergeant. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal as well as 5 other service medals. He was the Art postmaster where he served the people for 30 years. He was on the Soil and Water Conservation board for 20 years. He was also a rancher on the home place in Art.

Nathaniel loved people, keeping up with old friends and meeting new ones. He never met a stranger. He was always positive, thoughtful, and brought joy to all that knew him. His family came first and loved them dearly. He loved his church and was a faithful member. He will be remembered as a friend to all.

Opa loved playing dominoes and 42 with his friends. He enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching cows graze. Gardening was a special treat, and he had a garden until about 10 years ago. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and whatever activities they were in.

Nathaniel was proceeded in death by his wife Wands of 63 years, his parents Marvin and Hattie Jordan and a brother Herbert Jordan.

He is survived by his children, Darrell Jordan of San Antonio, a daughter Deborah Baxter and husband Don of Mason. Nathaniel had four grandchildren, Derek Baxter and Allison Paris of Austin, Matt Jordan and wife Lauren of Midland, Chad Jordan and wife Alexia of Midland and Denay Skaggs and husband Wade of Rankin. He had five great grandchildren, Case Skaggs, Connor Jordan, Harlow Jordan, Vera Jordan and John Jordan. He is also survived by his sisters, Vida Joseph and husband Kenneth, Gloria Beifeldt, Jan Carpenter and husband Owen and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, August 3rd at Mason Funeral Home Chapel from 5 pm to 7pm. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm. on Wednesday, August 4 ^th at Art United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Art West Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Derek Baxter, Matt Jordan, Chad Jordan, Wade Skaggs, Steve Toone and James Lindermann.
