Nancy R. Gandy, of Mason, passed away on Tuesday, November 3 at the age of 62. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 7, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mason Funeral Home chapel. Visitation with the family will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Survivors include 3 daughters, Cammie Keith, of Mason, Claudia Phillips of Houston and Courtney Long of Florence along with 8 grandchildren: Tyler Mayfield, Milam Mayfield, Mason Mayfield, Ophelia Phillips, Patrick Phillips, Peyton Long, Bailey Long and Brooke Long, who will all miss their "Grannan", numerous nieces and nephews and her friend and father of her children Dewey Keith. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Karen Williams and Sharon Pelkey and a brother Terry Gandy.
Nancy was born on September 23, 1953, in Midland, to John Terrell Gandy and Alvena Crawford Gandy. She was a 1971 graduate of Midland Lee High School. She later graduated from Midland College with a degree in nursing. In the 1980's Nancy worked as a drug and alcohol counselor. Later she worked as a registered nurse in Midland, Austin and Temple. Nancy worked in the "OR" and also worked as a home health nurse.
Nancy moved back to Mason a year ago in order to be closer to her daughter Cammie. Nancy had lived in Mason years earlier when she was married to Dewey. She loved dogs and in earlier years was an avid golfer.
