Michael McGee, of Mason, passed away on Monday, February 6, at the age of 69. Mr. McGee is survived by his son Steven L. McGee and wife Veronica of Birmingham, Alabama a sister Linda Powell Wharton and husband Barry R. Wharton of Mason and a brother Earl McGee Jr. and wife Lori of Millsap, Texas and 4 grandchildren Austin McGee, Pierce McGee, Kyle McGee and Jack Ryan McGee.
Michael was born on October 4, 1942 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Elza Earl McGee and Zenobia Black McGee. He attended Arlington Heights High School in Fort worth and graduated from Santa Fe Springs High School in California. After high school, Michael served 8 years in the U. S. Navy. After leaving the Navy, Michael worked for many years as a field representative and project engineer for Lennox Air Conditioning and Heating. Michael then opened his own business "McGee Mechanical" in Junction, specializing in heating and air conditioning. Michael had a great mechanical mind. Mike loved to work with electronics and gadgets. He could see the problem and find a creative solution. When his illness limited his mobility and ability to use the toilet and urinal, Michael created a urinal with a tube attached which was easier and cleaner to use.
Mike loved people, especially pretty women, and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. Even with his illness, he always kept his sharp mind and love of people. He was an active member of the VFW and was proud of his service in the navy. After he retired, Mike loved to travel along the Texas coast with his fifth wheel trailer.
