Mark Wayne Dockal, Sr.

Mark Wayne Dockal Sr., 76, of Mason, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Mark was born on January 22, 1950, in Mason, Texas, to Adolf Duard Dockal and Viola Mae Dockal. He graduated from Mason High School in 1968 and from Texas State Technical Institute (now Texas State Technical College) in Waco in 1970, becoming a certified welding instructor. On June 18, 1976, he married Deborah Derie Pike.

Mark was a hard worker who held various jobs over the years to provide for his family. As a teenager, he worked at the family business, Dockal’s Cafe. He farmed peanuts for Edwin Ince and Nathanial Martin, drove a feed truck at Mason Feeders, and worked as a mechanic at Vic’s Garage. He also worked as a welder for Harold Geistweidt and as a stocker for Super S Foods. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and barbecuing, but gardening was his true passion.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deborah “Debbie” Dockal, his children, Jolena Mae Adams, Mark Wayne Dockal Jr., and Adolf “Andy” Dockal, and his three grandchildren, Avery Adams, Peyton Adams and husband Gino, and Hunter Adams and wife Chloe. His brother, James Duard Dockal and wife Carolyn, sister-in-law, Linda Frenzel Dockal, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolf Duard and Viola Mae Dockal, and his siblings, Eddie Ray Dockal, Paul Dockal, Billy Joe Dockal, and Bonnie Dockal Davis.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
