Margarette Thompson Langlinais, age 86 of Lake McQueeney, beloved wife, mother, and friend, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 18, with her family at her bedside. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Amberly Moye, Landon Doherty, Alex and Presley Langlinais. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Reva Jean Mobley of Blanco, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Margarette was a 1944 graduate and FFA Sweetheart of Sabinal High School. Upon graduation, she worked at the Hondo Air Base and then at the Transit Tower in San Antonio. Margarette was a resident of Lake McQueeeney since 1953, where she and James raised their family in the home he constructed. In 1972, they opened the McQueeney Marina where they made lifelong friends with avid fishermen and folks who traveled from the surrounding area to enjoy the lake. She especially loved working on the farm and ranch where she grew up in the paradise of Utopia. Margarette had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and yard work. She loved to fish for perch, read and spend time with her grandchildren.
