Luther Dee (LD) Simon Jr passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the age of 76. LD was born July 6, 1944 in Little Saline to Luther Dee (Luke) and Zada Ray Simon. LD is survived by his wife, Betty Simon and two daughters, Shawna Baggett and husband Larry of Burnet and Kimberly Hendley and husband Tim of Brady. Grandchildren: Korey Kunc (Ayla), Hunter Kunc (Kelsie Hollander), Brayden Waite, Jatelyn Waite, Daniel McAnally, Talisha Hendley, Jacob McAnally (Jennifer), Katy Ulmer (Hunter), Sammy Winters (Carly), Kelsie Downes (Tanner), Kenzie Farris (Leann), Jayde Baggett, Lexi Baggett, Nichole Henry and 13 great grandchildren.

LD is preceded in death by his parents, brother Claude Simon, sister Bonnie Simon Evans, and grandson Dawson Reed Waite.

LD married Betty Waddill Simon on October 14, 1967, and they were married 53 years. LD graduated from Mason High School in 1962. He was a licensed plumber for 6 years then began his lifelong career building cabinets and working with wood, producing beautiful taxidermy bases up to the very end for Damuth Taxidermy.

LD enjoyed fishing and hunting with his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed his family and friends and sharing large fish fries with many.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 14 at 3:00 pm at the Mason Funeral Home.
