While attending The University of Houston, a mutual friend introduced Wayne and LuJane on a blind date, six weeks later on April 16, 1954, Wayne and LuJane were married at the Baptist Temple in Houston where she was a member of the choir.
With her gorgeous mezzo soprano voice, her passion in life had always been music. After retiring with her husband to the Texas Hill Country in 1996, she began singing with the Methodist Church Choir in Mason, The Fredericksburg Chorral Choir, and the Mason Community Choir, where she also played bells.
LuJane had many other hobbies as well, including crocheting. Beautiful and intricate afghans litter her family's couches and sitting rooms. Everyone loved to receive one of her cozy lap blankets or wrap their newest little one in her gifts. She also served for Livingston's Little League Association for many years even after her children were no longer playing. For many years she was an avid bowler and was a member of multiple associations and bowling leagues while in Livingston.
