In the scriptures of the Bible it is written that God bestows and blesses each of us with special gift(s), not to keep for our own, but to share and bless others with, thus the blessing is multiplied over and over again.

Lou Ann had a "real" special blessing with a small brush, some paint, and a piece of canvas. She could paint a picture so real that if it had eyes, they were looking at you no matter where you were standing. She could take a photograph and paint the same image down to the finest detail. Everything she painted "has life"….still!

Lou Ann Taylor Peterson was born July 7, 1940 in Coleman Texas to Jack Taylor and Mary Louise Mayes Taylor(Martin). She attended school in Coleman and Mason where she graduated in 1958.

Later, as wife/mother of a military family, she lived all over the US and in Canada, before settling back in Mason in 1978.

She is a Mom very much involved in the lives of her two sons and daughter, especially their involvement in sports. No football game was "too" cold, no basketball game was "too" noisy, no tennis tournament was "too" windy, no baseball game "too" hot, no rodeo "too" dusty, no sack of rattlesnakes dumped out on the yard "too" scary, she was always there. "Grandmere" continued to be there for her grandkids, they are important and she wanted "too" be there.

She was co-designer of the "Horseshoe" emblem/brand of Mason Punchers/Cowgirls, the "M" was added after that.

Her children know that MOM is always there for help and advice and love. Her grandkids know that Grandmere's door is always open, hugs are always soft and warm, and popsicles are in the freezer.

She passed from this life January 6, 2022.

She is preceded in death by son Kenneth Ross Peterson, mother Louise Martin, and sister Martha Mayo of Abilene.

Those of her family to share memories of her life are son Kerry Peterson of Yoakum and daughter Kelly Martin (Clyde) of Mason, seven grandkids, 13 great-grandkids plus baby 2022, niece Debra McCracken of Abilene and numerous cousins.

SHE MAY BE GONE, BUT HER LOVE AND MEMORIES WILL LIVE ON THROUGH OUR STORIES ABOUT HER.
