God brought another angel home January 2, 2016, when Lonnie was shot in the back and died in his front yard in Maryneal, Texas.

Lonnie was born to Leonard J. Sturdivant and Iva Mae Keith Sturdivant on January 21, 1956, in Hobbs, NM.

Lonnie was in Little League and Agriculture as a boy. He was always busy. Lonnie began driving big rigs and tractors at 15 years of age. I'm sure his favorite pastimes were roping in the rodeo and fishing. He graduated from Mason High School in the class of 1974. Lonnie married Rebeccah Blackwell in October, 1975 and they had two children, Johnny Joe (deceased) and Seth Sturdivant, also of Maryneal.

At age four, Lonnie survived a tragic accident, burning ninety percent of his body. It took Lonnie 4 years to get well, but never actually completely recovered from this accident.

Lonnie was a prankster and his sister Shirley was usually the one he played pranks on. He could play any stringed or brass instrument. Lonnie could draw, paint and his talents were limitless.

Lonnie last worked for Sweetwater Crane Services. He was a crane operator for the wind turbines.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Brooks Sturdivant and his son Seth Sturdivant both of Maryneal, sons Michael Brandon Moore of Lometa and Eric Wade Moore of Richland Springs. Lonnie is also survived by his sister , Shirley Sturdivant Wilkins and her two sons Steven and Daniel Wilkins along with Daniel's children, Brady and Brittany Wilkins all of New Braunfels and Lonnie 10 grandchildren; Heidi Sturdivant of Abilene, and Kimeri, Kira, Brandon, Gus, Gabriel, Brandt, Mallory, Allie and Mason, sisters and brothers-in-law; Lisa Pimm and husband Kenneth, Dixon Brooks and wife Peggy, Rebeccah Till and husband Bobby of the San Saba area and Keith Brooks of Lometa, thirty plus nephews and nieces and Granny Addie Keith who used to say, "You can't spit anywhere in Mason, Texas without hitting kinfolk."

Lonnie's sister, Shirley, would like to add that "Lonnie was always there for her and will be missed by all. Good bye till we meet again"

A Memorial service was held at the Maryneal Baptist Church on January 9th. Graveside service and interment will take place on Saturday, January 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cavness Cemetery.
