Linnda Graham obituary

Linnda Hubbell Graham, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend, school-mother and acting grandmother to innumerable residents of Mason, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2024.

Linnda was born on July 9th, 1937, to Pairalee and Frank Hubbell. Linnda grew up in a home built by her father and grandfather in Junction, Texas. There, Linnda attended Junction High School before attending The University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in Education and Home Economics.

Linnda met Oscar Lee Graham during her first year as a teacher in Fredericksburg. Lee was coaching in Junction at the time, and they met through Linnda's father. They were married in Junction in 1960 and shared many trips and happy memories throughout their marriage. The Grahams moved to Mason, Texas and Linnda became a mother in 1961 to Kerry Graham Rustin. Linnda worked at Mason High School for over forty years as the Home Economics teacher and even returned to be a substitute teacher following retirement. Linnda was fiercely supportive and caring of countless children and watched them grow and thrive into adulthood. There are very few folks who do not have a story about Linnda Graham in Mason.

Linnda was enthusiastic about many things, including socializing, making jewelry, cooking, sewing, and traveling with Lee. Linnda was a known lover of cats and adored her cat, Valentino. Linnda was a talker and loved helping others and giving advice. Linnda also loved to laugh and had an exceptional sense of humor. Linnda was an active supporter of the Methodist Church and participated in the Alpha Beta Psi sorority.

Linnda is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Pairalee Hubbell, and her dear husband Lee Graham. She is survived by her daughter, Kerry Graham Rustin, son-in-law Dameon Rustin, her grandchildren Zachary, Colleen, and Noah Rustin of Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Linnda also is survived by innumerable former students and close family friends including the Ince family, Will and Walker Ince, Emily Ellebracht and Hailey Hibler. Linnda, with her gift of connection, was blessed with the incredible support and friendship of caregivers in the last several years that became family: Marie Martinez and her grandchildren, Hortencia Cardoza, Monica Lewis, America Delgado, Claudia Martinez, Tereasa Thompson, Alicia Landin, and more. Linnda also received incredible care, love, and kindness while she resided at CelesteCare/Arbor House Memory Care in Fredericksburg, Texas.
