Linda Louise Lehmberg Terrell, Menard, Texas, joined her eternal Father in Heaven on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the age of 77.

She was born on August 22, 1943 to Walton and LaBelle Lehmberg. She and her mother lived at her grandparents' home until her father returned from World War II in January, 1946. Linda attended Mason public schools, where she graduated as Salutatorian. She received her undergraduate degree in education from Texas Christian University in 1964, where she was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha, Angel Flight, Student Government, and was a runner-up for Miss TCU. She earned her Master's degree in Radio and Television from Baylor University and taught school for 26 years, most of which were in Lockney, Texas, during which time she received the Regional Teacher of the Year Award and was recognized as the runner-up for Texas Teacher of the Year.

Linda was a passionate educator and had an incredible impact ­– both personally and professionally – on the lives of many people. She led students to national debate contests and helped them exceed in many UIL events. She was an outstanding consultant and workshop speaker across the state of Texas and even visited New Zealand to study their education systems and gain greater knowledge to benefit students and fellow educators. She was a member of the Caprock Writing Project, Study Club and, along with her husband, a leader in the 4-H Club. She was recognized statewide for her wonderful work with 4-H method demonstrations.

The foundation of her faith was in the Methodist Church. Linda grew up as a member of First United Methodist Church in Mason and was active in all congregations in which she was involved, including her present congregation London United Methodist Church in London, Texas. She participated in Bible studies, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and attended lay ministry conferences. She especially loved after-church potlucks and visits with friends. Just as she did as an educator, Linda could captivate an audience with extraordinary stories that always ended in an uproar of laughter.

Linda is survived by her husband, John Thomas "Buster" Terrell Jr.; her children, Lisa and Mark and their spouses; grandchildren, Kate and Jaden Kelly, and Hudson and Holland Terrell; and her sister, Laura Lehmberg Tallent and husband Drew.

Honorary pallbearers include La Donyce Hamilton, Danny Castleberry, Cory Castleberry, Clint McElroy, Cody McElroy, Paul Lehmberg, Kate and Jaden Kelly, and Hudson and Holland Terrell.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, January 31 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mason, with burial to follow at Gooch Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall. Face masks are required and social distancing is encouraged.
