Leroy Sanders, of Brady, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, at the age of 47. Leroy was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on September 2, 1968 to Howard Sanders and Eddie Mae Small Sanders. Leroy was a 1987 graduate of Mason High School. For many years Leroy worked as a paint and body man repairing cars.

Leroy enjoyed life! He loved to go shooting and hunting, fishing and racing cars and anything to do with being outdoors. In his younger years he liked to rodeo and ride bare back broncs. He also enjoyed mudding with his jeep. Most of all, Leroy loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left behind to remember him include his father Howard Sanders, of Mason, his children Dakota Eckert and wife Elisha of Brady, Ashly Sanders and husband Leroy Meador of Brady, Heather Sanders and John Wyatt of San Angelo and Taylor Meador of Brady along with his brothers Jerry Sanders of Mason and Carl Sanders of Austin, grandchildren: Kaydence Eckert, Landon Eckert, Tatum Eckert, Jadin Sanders, Bryant Sanders, J.W. Thompson, William Sanders, Trynt Airheart, Kaitlyn Wyatt, Kyson Wyatt, Abigail Meador, Braydon Meador and Isaac Meador, a niece and nephew Amber Sanders and John Sanders and a special friend Francis Riggs. Leroy was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 12, at 1:00 p.m. in the Mason Funeral Home chapel with J.D. Sanders leading the service. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Dakota Eckert, Taylor Meador, Aubrey Hammit, Don Allen, Carl Sanders, Jerry Sanders. Brandon Airheart and Raymond Bradshaw. Honorary pallbearers are Julian Perez, Ricky Wayne Johnson and Leroy Meador.
