LeJeune Kirchhoff Leifeste was born on March 23, 1928, in Mason, Texas, the daughter of Earl and Muriel Leslie. She passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the age of 86.

"Jeune" graduated from Mason High School and attended the University of Texas in Austin for two years. She loved to read, paint, cook, and entertain friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Elizabeth; her first husband, W. G. "Bert" Kirchhoff in January 1979; and her husband, Edgar Leifeste, Jr. in May 2000.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha Smith and husband, Mike of Mason; Melissa Taylor and husband, Robin of Lubbock; Marie Marez and husband, Lupe of Merkel; one son, Mark Kirchhoff and wife Tammy of Iraan; nine grandchildren, Matthew Smith; Hadley Smith; Melanie Blakely; Russell Landers and wife Amanda; Emily Carter and husband, Josh; Travis Gloyd and wife Amanda; Michelle Herndon; Katy Baugh and husband, Jim Ed; Will Kirchhoff; nine great-grandchildren; and three nieces, Ann Walker; Susan Keeling and husband Jimmie; and Kathy Bradley and husband, Lee.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Visitation with the family will follow immediately after the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Gooch Cemetery.
