Obituary

LaVerne Vandeveer, of Cedar Park, passed away on Monday, March 15, at the age of 81. Mrs. Vandeveer is survived by her daughter Sarah Harden and husband Allan of Leander a son Alden Vandeveer Jr. and wife Marilyn of Cuero, 3 grandchildren Michael Vandeveer and wife Leslie, Timothy Vandeveer and Claude Vandeveer, two great-grandchildren Tom and Lillie Vandeveer and a sister-in-law Mae Blanche Chew of Corsicana. She was preceded in death by her husband Alden Vandeveer Sr. in 2003.

Laverne was born on August 6, 1928 in Menard County to George Eugene Hubbell and Sarah Jesse Haught Hubbell. On December 29, 1945 she married Alden Vandeveer. They lived in several towns before settling in Ingleside for most of their married life. Laverne was a beautician until she went back to school and at the age of 50 received her nursing license. In Ingleside LaVerne was a member of the First Christian Church.

Mrs. Vandeveer will lie in state at Mason Funeral Home on Friday, March19, from 10:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday, March 20, from 10:30 till noon at Mason Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery at Camp Air.

Memorials in her honor may be made to the Capitol Area Food Bank or to the charity of one's choice.
