Obituary

Larry Gilbert Dannheim, born to Warren and Alice Dannheim, on September 15, 1938, finished his journey to go see Jesus on December 9, 2018 at the age of 80. He went peacefully, sweetly, surrounded by his loving family. What a Day! Larry had been in fractured health for a number of years. He attended Mason High School where he met Bertie Faith Durst, whom he married on September 28, 1957. In 1959, the Dannheims moved to Houston, where Larry began a career in Pest Control and completed 3 years of night school at San Jacinto College. He and Bertie were blessed with three children, Sabrina, Gregory, and Michael. He interrupted his career to move back to Mason in 1971 to open and owned Nu-Way Convenience store/gas station on the corner square. The family moved back to Houston in 1972 to open his own pest control business, Southwest Pest Control.   In 1975, Larry merged his business with Modern Pest Control, which he managed until 1983. He sold his interest in Modern and moved his family to San Antonio, Texas that same year. After several business ventures, in 1985, he returned to his first calling of Pest Control to set up NuWay Pest Control which he was co-owner until his passing.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bertie Faith Dannheim, his children, Sabrina Dannheim, Michael Dannheim, Gregory Dannheim and his wife Nanette Dannheim, his grandsons, Alexander and Jason Dannheim, all of San Antonio, Texas, his sister, Juanell Dannheim McKnight, of San Angelo, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Alice Dannheim.

Larry enjoyed many years of golf before his health declined. He also loved taking road trips with Bertie to visit extended family throughout Texas, including Houston, Corpus Christi, Kerrville, and back home to Mason.

Some of his greatest times spent were with Bertie, "Oma," and their two grandsons, who called him "Pop."

Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and most important a child of God. Larry loved Jesus, his country, his family. His presence and gentle spirit will live on in all of us who knew and loved him.

This Bible verse bespeaks of His Promise of Everlasting life. "Then, will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean…and I will cleanse you. A new heart also I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you…."   Ezekiel 36:25-26 (paraphrased)
