Kenneth Danford, of Mason, passed away on Monday, August 12, at the age of 67. Mr. Danford is survived by his wife Carolyn Danford, of Mason, two children Ken Danford Jr. and wife Lindy of Bryan, Shawna Howard and husband Waylon of Pampa, a brother Bill Danford of Whitney and three grandchildren Kyle Danford, Kristen Danford and Kade Danford. He was preceded in death by a son Stephen Ray Danford and a brother Bobby Danford.

Funeral services for Kenneth Danford will be held graveside at the Gooch Cemetery in Mason on Thursday, August 15, at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Mason Funeral Home. There will not be any viewing or visitation prior to the service.

Kenneth was born in Austin, Texas on August 30, 1945 to Clyde Danford and Ida Mae Nichols Danford. He was raised in Menard and was a graduate of Menard High School. Kenneth attended San Angelo State for a year and then went to work for the City of Lubbock as a draftsman. In 1965 he married Carolyn Summitt and their marriage was blessed with three children. After several years in Lubbock, the family moved to Borger where Kenneth was the head draftsman for Krackie-Gober Corporation for 15 years before finishing his career as a water treatment specialist with Conoco-Phillips. After retiring, Kenneth and Carolyn moved to Mason where they have lived for several years. Kenneth loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the birds at the many bird feeders he put in their yard. It wasn't so much the hunting he enjoyed but rather the time spent with his family. Family was very, very important to Kenneth. He loved being with his wife and children and grandchildren. Kenneth and Carolyn made it a point to attend as many of the kids school and sports activities as possible and in later years they did the same with their grandchildren. Kenneth especially loved watching his grandson play college baseball.
