Katherine Marie Gist of Mason, Texas, passed from this life to the next on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at the age of 68. She is survived by her husband, Reverend Joe Gist of Mason, Texas and her son, Seth Austin Duff Gist of Clermont, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Claire Wagner, her mother, Annie Wagner, and her brother, Bob Wagner, all of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

Kathy was born and raised in Beaver Falls and graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1974; Western Pennsylvania University; Slippery Rock University; and the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas. Kathy retired from her calling as a public-school teacher after 42 years in 2019.

She was a member of Art Methodist Church, Art, Texas, where her husband, Joe, is pastor. She was a loving and devoted mother, wife, and friend. She lived a life of unmovable love for God and God's people, serving congregations at her husband's side in East and North Texas, Western Pennsylvania, Georgia, and most recently in the Texas Hill Country.

A memorial service celebrating Kathy's life will be held 11:00am Saturday, July 26th, at Art Methodist Church, Art, Texas.
