Joyce Koock Holloway passed away on Sunday, November 20, at the age of 87. Joyce was born on October 27, 1929 in Mason to William Karl Koock and Vera Dannheim Koock. Mason County would be her home all of her life. In 1948 she fell in love married A. F. "Boog" Holloway and they were together for the next 67 years!
Joyce was co-owner of Mason Bottling Company. She was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was choir director for 38 years. She was active with Girl Scouts, ALCW, Band Mother's and many other activities. Joyce's true love and what made her happiest was her family.
Survivors include two daughters Cheryl Holloway Fairchild and husband Leon of McKinney, Texas and Debra Holloway Wenzel and husband Larry of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Mitchell Fairchild and wife Kristine, Taryn Wenzel Deach, Hunter Wenzel and wife Demetra and Reed Fairchild, five great-grandchildren Talyn Ellenberger, Brooklyn Fairchild, Jace Deach, Knox Wenzel and Stone Wenzel, a brother Bill Koock and wife Cynthia of Kerrville along with numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband A. F. "Boog" Holloway.
Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Fred Krebs officiating. Interment will follow in the Gooch Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Mitchell Fairchild, Hunter Wenzel, Taryn Deach, Reed Fairchild, John Koock and Keesie Kothmann.
