Josephine Brown of Mason, Texas passed away on July 24, 2011 after spending almost two years at Trinity Care Center in Round Rock, Texas. She was 89 years old in June.
Josephine Jacobson was born in 1922 and lived her early life in Brady, TX with her parents, seven sisters and two brothers. She married Thomas N. Brown in 1939 and moved to Mason to start their family. Thomas predeceased her in 2000.
She is remembered in love by her family. She had four children; Beverly Cosgrove and her husband Jim of Lake Conroe, sons, Tom Brown who predeceased her and his wife Judy of Round Rock, Jim Brown of Coldspring and Tim Brown of Mason. Josephine had seven grandchildren; Traci Mundwiller, Jen Brown, Brandon Brown, Nathan Brown, Emily Brown, Michael Brown, and Zachary Brown. She also has eight great-grandchildren. She has two surviving sisters; Elverie Nalls of Luling and Wynell Roper of Brady. She was blessed to have many friends.
Josephine was known as the Avon Lady; selling Avon for over forty years. She also worked next to her husband Thomas as the bookkeeper for Mason Gulf Service. Her Church was a very important part of her life. While working in many capacities, most of all, she loved her choir. She sang there for over fifty years. Reading was her favorite past time. She truly loved and protected her family.
A Remembrance Service will be held at the Mason First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Gooch Cemetery. Visitation was at Mason Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 26 from 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to the Mason First United Methodist Church or charities of choice.
