Jose Torres was a great and wonderful family man.  He was born in Rocksprings, Texas on October 9, 1932 to Francisco B. Torres and Elosia Martinez Torres.  He lived most of his life in Mason. He was a wonderful father and grandfather.  Jose passed away on Saturday morning, March 26 at the age of 89.

Jose is survived by his wife Donna Faye Campbell Torres, of Mason, his children: Marie Lira of Mason, Daniel Torres and wife Pury of Iraan, Manuel Torres and wife Mary of Greensburg, Mississippi, Ricky Torres of Mason, Abelardo Torres Sr. and wife Elida of Hico, Yolanda Palacio and husband Moses of Mason, Sylvia Padron and husband Jose of Mexico, Raymond Torres of Mason, Rosa Torres of Mason, and Nicholas Torres of Mason, a brother Gabriel Torres and wife Kathy of San Saba and a sister Erlinda Torres of Waco, around 60 grandchildren and about 40 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Estella Mendoza Torres and three sons: Joe Torres Jr., Ruben Torres and Alfredo Torres.

He loved when his girls cooked for him and celebrated special occasions and he loved when his boys came to visit him.  Jose always had a smile on his face!

Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.  This will be followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00.  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Crosby Cemetery.
