Mr. Bennet is survived by his daughter Bonnie Bennett, of Junction, a son Jerry Glenn Bennett and wife Judy of Azalea, Oregon, two brothers, David Bennett of El Paso and Max Bennett and wife Anne of El Paso, two sisters Mary Ellen Bobb of Big Lake, TX and Evelyn Carr and husband Frank of Franklinton, Louisiana and a grandson Kenneth "K.C." Kinle of Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife Melba Norman Bennett and a brother John Bennett.

Jerry was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on January 20, 1926 to William Glenn Bennett and Cora Ellen McNamee Bennett. He was in the Navy for 6 years serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. After his time in the military, Jerry worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 35 years. Jerry married Melba Norman in 1954 and in 1985 they moved to Mason. The last couple of years Jerry spent in Junction so that he could be near his daughter. Jerry was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Junction and a former member of the Lions Club. He loved to tell stories, had a great sense of humor, and a very even disposition. His family said they never heard him say a curse word. Pretty remarkable for a former sailor! H was a soft-spoken gentleman who also had great wit. Jerry had a love of animals and will be missed by his dog that he loved so much.
