Obituary

The tiniest thing that we adored was our mother and nana.  Jeanette "Tiny" Thomas, 76, passed away with her children and daughter in law at her side on September 1, 2021.

Tiny was born on July 13, 1945 in Oakland, California.  She was an only child of Lois Dearing. She married Bobby Joe Thomas on March 7, 1964 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later moved their family to the Texas Hill Country.  Tiny and Bobby Joe were teenage sweethearts. In their spare time they enjoyed dancing, watching rodeos and going to roping's together.  Tiny had several different hobbies.  She enjoyed painting, crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She would spend many relaxing hours working on paintings or working in her yard.

Jeanette "Tiny" as she was called, was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.  Her nickname Tiny was given to her when she was a very young child.  Tiny was small in stature, but big at heart.  She loved to spend time watching her grandchildren participate in rodeos or showing their livestock.  She will be remembered for her funny sense of humor and her blunt conversations. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many friends and family members.

Tiny worked for several years in the Llano School system and later had her own floral business. She enjoyed flowers and spent a many long hours working with her daughters in the floral business. When she was not doing that she was with her family in the rodeo arena watching and helping out.

Tiny is survived by: her son Jim Bob Thomas and wife Mindy, son Cade of Mason, TX; her daughter Jackie Smith and husband; Wesley and daughters Bailey Rhea and Kindal of Logan, NM; daughter Jody Green and husband Jason of Panhandle, TX; Granddaughter Kaysea Christopher and husband, Wesley, sons Blake and Cody of Clarendon, TX.  Tiny also had several nephews and nieces, as well as a host of dear friends.

Jeanette "Tiny" was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Joe, mother Lois Dearing, brother in laws Joe Ben Gardner and Billy Neal Thomas and a great granddaughter Holliegh Joe Christopher.

A Poem for Mother

By Dick Underwood

Mother, you were just a girl,

So many years ago.

You had your loves and had your dreams,

You watched us come and go.

You watched us make the same mistakes,

That you had made before,

But that just made you hold us tight,

And love us all the more.

We haven't always thought about

The things that you have seen.

To us you've just been 'Mother',

No thought of who you've been.

But we remember now in love,

Your life from start to end,

And we're just glad we knew you,

As Mother, and as Friend.

Family will hold a private graveside service at Wagram Cemetery, Fredonia, TX.
