Janet Arlene Leifeste James of Venus, Texas, passed away on April 7, at the age of 84.  A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 3:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.

Janet was born on May 5, 1941, in Brady, to Reuben Leifeste and Pearl Vater Leifeste.  Survivors include two sisters, Goldie Lease of Art and Lyndith Kuhne of Mason, 3 step-children: David James, Steve James and Theresa Minton.  She was preceded in death by her husband Layton James and a sister, Marilyn Kahan.
